The Birmingham Airport Authority is hosting a job fair this morning at Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport for more than 60 jobs.
It’s yet another sign that air travel locally is recovering from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Birmingham-Shuttlesworth has averaged about 5,070 passengers per day since April, according to the airport authority. Traffic at BHM in April reached 152,060, an increase of 1087.7% over April 2020.
The event will take place from 9 to 11:30 a.m. in the airport’s Event Room on the upper level of the terminal. No advance registration is required. Parking will be validated if applicants park in the Hourly Parking “Yellow Section C” of the parking deck, on level 3.
Those taking part should bring a photo ID and copies of their resume. Wear business attire as many employers plan to interview and hire on the spot.
Among those looking for applicants are Atlantic Aviation, Avis Budget Group, Birmingham Airport Authority, Budget Rent A Car, Hertz, Hudson Group, Southern Sky Aviation, Transportation Security Administration, United Ground Express and United States Customs and Border Protection. Jobs range from customer service representatives to maintenance technicians, shop and restaurant employees, cooks, baristas, bartenders, supervisors, maintenance and operations positions.
