Logan Keller Named NAAA Athlete of the Week

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Freshman Logan Keller (Longwood, Fla.) has been named the Naval Academy Athletic Association Athlete of the Week presented by Northrop Grumman after helping the Midshipmen to a 3-2 record on the diamond this past week.
 
Keller finished the week hitting .524 at the plate for Navy where he reached base at a .545 clip. The native of Longwood, Fla., racked up 11 hits with four going for extra bases en route to a .905 slugging percentage and eight RBIs. Keller had a hit in each of the five games last week while recording three multi-hit games and two multi-RBI games.
 
Keller finished a Saturday doubleheader with a 4-for-5 game against Lafayette where he drove in four runs. In the contest, the freshman hit his first career home run and he also chipped in with a double. He also ended the weekend against the Leopards going 3-for-5 with a pair of triples and two RBIs as Navy picked up a 10-8 victory to split the weekend series.
 
On the year, Keller leads the Midshipmen with a .371 batting average and 23 hits. He also guides the team with 19 RBIs and is second with a .548 slugging percentage. Within the Patriot League, Keller ranks third in RBIs and fifth in hits.
 
Along with being named NAAA Athlete of the Week, Keller and junior Dalton Baker (Sebring, Fla.) were selected as Patriot League Honorable Mention Players of the Week.
 
Navy is back in action this weekend with a three-game series against Bucknell. The Midshipmen host a doubleheader on Saturday starting at 1 p.m. and then travel to Lewisburg, Pa., for the final game of the series on Sunday at 1 p.m.
