The Academy NJ is all about enjoyable, colorful learning spaces where the child feels physically and emotionally comfortable. The kids have “movement breaks” after each learning period, where they walk, run, play 15 min of sports, go outside… and return to fun learning.
HOLMDEL, NJ: Bell Works brings so much to our community. Where else can you stop by for a business meeting, play a round of indoor golf, grab a gourmet lunch, get a check-up, watch a theatrical performance, maybe even run into Ben Stiller on a movie set…
Yes, that’s true.
Ben Stiller was just in Bell Works for an AppleTV production… Anyway, Bell Works has something for everyone, so having a highly specialized school for children is a natural fit for Bell Works, fondly dubbed #TheMetroburb.
This year-round private children’s school in Bell Works is The Academy New Jersey. It is a 3rd -12th grade private school, specializing in educating children with dyslexia, ADD/ADHD, specific learning disabilities, and those who are struggling readers and non-traditional learners. For the inaugural year, the Academy NJ will teach children in 3rd – 6th grades, with the plan to add one additional grade each year after that with the first graduating class in 2027-2028.
TAPinto caught up with the founder of Academy NJ, Ann Gradman, a Middletown resident. When asked what inspires Gradman she responded, “I have been teaching locally for 20 years in a traditional environment and I have always wanted to open up a school where I could provide specific students with what I think they truly need. The children inspired me and connecting with other inspiring educators. With The Academy NJ, so many local families in Monmouth County, will now have a local option. Many now have to travel as far as Princeton to receive the specialized education that we will be offering right here in Holmdel. We are not a prep school, preparing for more education, rather, The Academy Way is preparing children for real life. Learning here is comfortable and fun and truly it is about nurturing every child’s individual greatness.”
