More companies and nonprofit groups are seeking to fill openings now that coronavirus-lockdown measures have eased and business activity is picking up.
Here are some of the larger hiring efforts by metro Phoenix employers, many of which offer entry-level positions with various benefits:
Resort offers $500 bonus
The posh Phoenician resort will host a job fair for roughly 80 full-, part-time and seasonal positions in areas that include landscaping, food service, housekeeping, spa/recreation, security and front desk. Benefits include medical and dental insurance, tuition reimbursement and a 401(k) retirement plan, plus travel discounts.
A sign-on bonus of $500 will be offered to new full- and part-time hires.

Lowe’s seeking hundreds of workers
Home improvement retailer Lowe’s, which employs around 4,800 people in Arizona, is seeking up to 600 new employees in the Phoenix metro area — part of up to 50,000 seasonal, part-time and full-time store associates being hired nationally.
Open positions include cashiers, stockers and receivers, merchandise-service associates, drivers and supervisors.
In addition to regular pay and quarterly profit-sharing bonuses for hourly associates, the company also offers various benefits to full- and part-time associates, including health care insurance, retirement plans, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off, leave programs and tuition assistance.
Interested individuals may drop by a nearby store and meet with a manager to apply.

Convenience-store help needed
Circle K is planning to hire between 1,500 and 2,000 new employees for its convenience stores in Arizona, with 500 to 750 of these individuals located in the metro Phoenix — part of 20,000 such openings nationwide.

The company also has opportunities at service centers that support stores in fields including maintenance, fuel transportation, accounting, auditing, data analytics, technology support and more.
An emergency sick-care plan for hourly Circle K workers includes a bank of sick pay time and a pay-continuation benefit for people diagnosed with COVID-19 or placed under a mandatory quarantine.

Jobs for adults with autism
The Precisionists, a company that creates jobs for individuals with various disabilities, has opened an Innovation and Technology Center in Phoenix, its third nationally, and is seeking to create more than 500 jobs for local adults with autism and other disabilities over the next three to five years.
The Precisionists assesses, trains and employs neurodiverse adults for work in software development and testing, database analytics, cybersecurity, back-office accounting, data entry, report auditing and other areas. Previously, such work was performed at client locations, but now it also can be performed at the new center at 4646 E. Van Buren St. An estimated 75% to 80% of people with autism are unemployed or underemployed.

Food-service shifts at airport
HMSHost, a leader in travel dining, will hold two job fairs to fill more than 100 food-service positions at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.
Full- and part-time openings at the airport include positions at Starbucks, Chelsea’s Kitchen, La Grande Orange, Barrio Café, Cowboy Ciao, Shake Shack, Blanco Tacos & Tequila, Olive & Ivy, ZinBurger and San Tan Brewery. Positions include assistant managers, Starbucks baristas, hosts and hostesses, cashiers, dishwashers, cooks and lounge-club attendants. Benefits include a 401(k) retirement plan, medical and dental insurance, vacation pay, free meals, free parking and bus passes.
The job fairs will be held May 11 and May 25, from 8 a.m. to noon both days, at the HMSHost office west of the airport at 1250 E. Hadley St., Suite 6, in Phoenix. Attendees must wear a face mask, be prepared to wait outside and bring two forms of identification. The dress code is business casual.
